Have a Ball: A Bridgerton-Inspired Graduation Soirée

When the moment calls for celebration, one must, of course, reach for the fine china. To honor our very own Diamond of the Season, Ms. Chloe Howell, friends and family gathered for a graduation fête draped in Regency-era charm. And while this was an evening that could easily have slipped from the pages of Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers, we promise the only drama was a feast of beauty, indulgence, and theatrical splendor. Here, we indulge you in the decadent details–no whispered scandals or gossip required!

The Aesthetic of Regency Era Charm

Dearest Gentle Reader, allow us to transport you from the fictional salons of 1800s London to the sweeping grandeur of The Mason Dallas. Against this storied backdrop, we reimagined high society’s rituals with a grand graduation ball that balanced Bridgerton’s romantic ease with a contemporary wink.

Guests were invited to wear aristocratic ballgowns and enjoy playful diversions. In true Regency fashion, the evening unfolded with glittering conviviality: a seated dinner featuring a gorgeous tablescape design, 19th-century parlor games and dancing, and the kind of merriment that insists one literally has a ball. From the delicious mocktails for minors to the hidden speakeasy behind a hidden shelf for the adults, everyone had a chance to enter and enjoy the societal theater of the Regency world.

Hold Court with Character

The Regency Era calls for a poised beauty, where aesthetic abundance is woven into every detail, from fashion to florals. Our celebration followed suit, reveling in the “more-is-more” approach: Refined porcelain and adorned chargers, tapered candles casting a warm glow, and chandeliers shimmering above cascades of bright blooms.

Cassandra of Art 2 Catering conjured a culinary feast of European elegance and dramatic display, while Dr. Delphinium Events, led by Natalie, transformed the Grand Hall into a floral dreamscape. Roses, peonies, and hydrangea spilled from ornate vessels, softening the grandeur with garden romance. The final flourish? A table graced with the storied Mottahedeh Tobacco Leaf pattern—an heirloom design that embodies Regency’s taste for exoticism and elegance.

A Mottahedeh Moment

Every place setting tells a story. For this occasion, none was more fitting than Mottahedeh’s Lace Charger and Tobacco Leaf dinner plate pairing—a riot of color and gilded detail inspired by 18th-century Chinese export porcelain. Its exuberant florals, exotic birds, and jeweled palette created not just a table, but a conversation in porcelain.
