Fall Designer Series: Jess Wegner

Autumn Revival: Embrace the energetic shift on a new season with a few of our favorite Dallas tastemakers.

For Texans, we know Fall as the delightful emergence of society season. Soirees abound as cooler weather offers a reprieve from summer’s long and lazy sojourn. Holiday parties begin booking and October weddings begin blooming. And in the midst of these hectic schedules, our creative spirit once again flourishes as we begin purposefully setting the table for celebrated gatherings, big and small.

To this degree: It’s always a joy for us to see what our friends decide to bring to the table in the designer series. These six designers master the art of gathering by setting a finely tuned tablescape with just the right amount of drama to elevate the evening. You can summarize the current approach to tabletop in this seasonal remix as a rejuvenating return to you. There is no one trend taking centerstage; rather, the modus operandi appears to resonate with an authentic celebration of the comforts, luxuries, and elegance that exudes from signature style. These tablescapes invite us into the creative minds and emotions of each planner with unbridled enthusiasm and warmth. And as we always say, life is too short not to break out the fine china.

NAME TO KNOW: JESS WEGNER

There are industry professionals with an innate knack for curating expert color-coded timelines, turning a scattered mood board into an unforgettable moment, scheduling and setting it all up within an insanely short window of time, and still managing a graceful composure and amusing sense of humor. Jess Wegner happens to be that person. While her organization and problem-solving are what often save the day, it is indeed her personality that keeps her dear to everyone’s hearts.

You’ll find her tastemaking stamp on an event where the time-honored traditions meet a touch of modernity and the pattern play is flawlessly executed. If there is a theme, she’ll run with it in a way that feels fresh and fun. And I don’t know what you’ve heard about Texans but we LIVE for a theme. Just check out her industry night boujee bingo party if you need any further persuasion. So when we asked Jess to spin a few P.O.S.H. plates with us, we knew we’d find a charmingly on-point tablescape aesthetic attached to the MOST soulful season. Have your Pinterest boards ready–you are in for a delight.

Thank you, Jess, for sharing the pleasure of your passion with us. Without further adieu:

THE CLOSE UP

Tablescape Vibe:

Delight in the abundant spirit of the season with a classic feast for the eyes. Just like a great meal, Jess threw in all the trimmings. This tablescape invites you to stay and soak up its special touches. To note, we will definitely be adding a feather to our holiday napkins from here on out.

Palette + Pattern

We don't have to wait on prints charming to arrive when our girl delivers a plethora of tasteful patterns to keep the eye entertained. Just the right touch of rich autumnal greens and reds atop a crisp classic white dinner plate is like the perfect spice to the season.

Conversation Piece:

This is a sip of a smoky indulgence you don't have to feel bad about. We're obviously talking about our new Smoke Glassware. Talk about setting the mood.

Table + Chair:

The farmhouse tables and chairs offer room for abundance while holding a feast for the eyes–nothing could be more perfect for adding a few more companions to the table come Friendsgiving.

Dress Up:

This tablescape was dressed appropriately for the holiday season, as should you. We are taking our style notes from Jess and channeling our shared favorite society swan Kate Middleton. Picture Kate the Great on a hunting holiday and it's not too far off from Texas traditions. The latest Tartan Season campaign from Hill House shot by Clairborne Swanson Frank shot by Peyton feels just so wonderfully right.
