You're Invited: POSH Designer Series, Spring Edition

You are cordially invited to our first ever P.O.S.H. Designer Series. We’re celebrating the beauty of gracious entertaining with the well-considered tabletop, from china and cutlery to personal touches from the names to know in event design. Visit digitally on our website to find a new designer featured every three weeks, or experience them all first-hand with a scheduled visit to our showroom now through the end of May.

Our moments around the table are always intimate, no matter the size of the party. Even if the only guests are family and friends who don’t need impressing, an elegantly composed tabletop nostalgically elevates the experience and allows everyone to relax–something we all need in the monotony of forced isolation. We are born china collectors, but the added beauty of rentals allows an opportunity to express every side of our personality or embrace a theme. To celebrate the transformative power of tabletops, we called in local event design experts (who also happen to be preeminent hosts themselves) to handpick their favorite rentals for a tablescape that lightheartedly speaks to this moment. Whatever the occasion, these tastemakers have perfected the art of mixing exceptionally styled tablescapes for clients from Dallas to Italy, and everywhere in between. We ADORE the designs–tablescapes that impress not just because they’re gorgeous, but because you feel the fun and passion in the selections. They will transform you to a place and time. Enjoy. P.S. A very special shout out to Tamytha Cameron Photography, who always captures every layer to perfection.

NAME TO KNOW: Emily Clarke Events

If you’re familiar with Emily Clarke of Emily Clarke Events and The Detail Department, you know her teams are the creative unicorns of the wedding and event industry nationwide–quite literally Lisa Frank for adults, shooting rainbows into the night skies so you can leave the world behind for a moment. Her focus and boundless energy could be attributed to her fast-paced tennis matches, but that enchantment is all Emily. There is magic in self-expression, a joyful notion Emily harnesses like the sun, and hopes to create even more of this year through team collaborations. Her love and understanding of textiles and patterns are served with unexpected and colorful sophistication. It's no wonder David Stark is her dream collaborator. When we asked Emily to come to play, she aced the juxtaposition of luxury and fun for a tabletop inspired by who she would bring to the table–a group of diverse, strong women. We noticed her editing was key, for this thoughtfully created table, and life. As she says, "Time is precious, edit out anything that wastes your time and energy." Game. Match. Set, sis. As we set our sights on a promising Spring, we couldn't agree more. Below, we let her table tell the story.

TABLE TALK

First things first, tell us a bit about yourself for someone who may not be familiar.

My name is Emily Clarke, owner of Emily Clarke Events, a full-service planning and design studio. I am a lover of color, texture, and celebration! Our events run on individuality, big picture planning with detail-driven execution, and an underlying optimism that a fanciful concept can be created.

How do you let a table tell a story?

Through the centerpiece, style of tabletop, or texture and color of linen, but most importantly the storytelling is all in the details. Whether it be in the place card or an oversized installation, we believe in utilizing each detail to reflect back on the celebrant which allows the guests to have a one of a kind experience.

What inspired this design?

With the current climate, we feel like everyone is itching to celebrate even the small things. So we wanted to create what it would look like to gather a small group of women in a cheerful and happy atmosphere.

What is your favorite rental piece on this table and why?

The pink Cutipol GOA flatware. The GOA line is a modern and fun flatware collection, and the pink is such a perfect pop on a table.

Who would you want to bring to this table?

A diverse group of fun, strong women.

READY FOR THE CLOSE UP

Tablescape Vibe: Feminine, whimsical, creative.

Palette: A casually layered mix of pink and white Coupe China creates a playful vignette of luxury and fun with sexy Silhouette Stemware and modern artisanal Cutipol GOA Pink and Gold Flatware.

Conversation Piece: The Detail Department notebooks, created to spark joy in a year where we were all asked to dig a little deeper. Find our favorite form of self-care by gathering with your closest friends, toasting to each other’s success, and writing down the future you imagine. Manifest that rosy outlook by taking control of the only thing you can–your response. This tablescape promises dreaming big will brighten up even the trickiest of days.

Sit for a While: The Farmhouse Table was made for ample seating and an easygoing atmosphere. The beauty of the Mila is she can dress up any seating arrangement without being stuffy. She simply asks you to leave the world behind.

Dress Up: An invite to this table might involve the playful swagger of pristine sneakers or an ultra-femme La Vie Style dress. It’s a come as you are situation because you always come dressed to play.
