Celebrate: Graduation

Hats off to the graduate! Graduation is a time for celebrating the new and the old and looking forward to the future. In our opinion, a graduation party is the best way to celebrate the past few years of great accomplishments and triumphs. Whether you are planning to celebrate big or small we have you covered.

Start by most importantly taking the graduate into mind. How would he or she want to celebrate such an accomplishment and who would they want there to share this moment with? Next, consider what type of party you want to throw; dinner party, barbeque, cocktail hour, or day time celebration? After knowing these things or as we say “all your ducks in a row” your planning and preparation will be much easier to do!

Dinner Party
Dinner parties are always quite a task seeing that there are so many elements involved in pulling off a successful one. But don’t fear we know you can do it! Create a menu (there are some great ideas here) that features the graduates’ favorite items or if you really aren’t into the whole cooking for an extra large group thing, have it catered! Either way planning, planning, and more planning are definitely involved to pull it off, so start early. Depending on the number of guests you plan on inviting make sure you set a table or multiple tables that can accommodate everyone. For graduation we like the idea of using white china and a printed or fun linen for your tabletop. This ultimately leaves room to get creative with centerpieces, as well as, creates a simple and elegant table to gather around.

Barbeque
A barbeque is a relaxed and casual way to celebrate the graduate. Grab some burgers or ribs and cook them up while guests mingle and catch up! Create a signature cocktail that guests can enjoy and name it after the graduate for a personalized feel. As far as serving pieces go, keep it simple with recycled paper products and use a Round Rattan Charger to keep the paper plates sturdy. This way you have an easy clean up and don’t have to worry about broken plates or glass. Also, rattan creates the perfect outdoor look and feel.

Cocktail Hour
This is a great way to toast the graduate (but only if the graduate is over 21 of course!). It gives everyone a chance to talk while enjoying good company and good drinks. Our best advice, make sure you have a variety of drinks and glassware to serve it all. Everything from champagne flutes to highball glasses to wine glasses would be ideal to make the cocktail hour complete. Just like with the barbeque, create a signature drink named after the graduate! Along with your drinks make sure there are plenty of finger foods for your guests to get their hands on. Lastly, don’t forget the champagne toast!

Other Party Ideas
When it comes to ideas for decorating, inspiration can be found anywhere. Whether you are doing DIY or hitting up the local party supply store for all your decorations stick to one theme and go from there!
• Rent a photo booth for guests to take silly pictures and make lasting memories
• Decorate with pictures of the graduate when they were young
• Go with a school color theme
• Have a book for guests to sign and wish the graduate well wishes or good luck
