POSH DESIGNER SERIES, BRIGADE EVENTS

You are cordially invited to our first ever P.O.S.H. Designer Series. We’re celebrating the beauty of gracious entertaining with the well-considered tabletop, from china and cutlery to personal touches from the names to know in event design. Visit digitally on our website to find a new designer featured every three weeks, or experience them all first-hand with a scheduled visit to our showroom now through the end of May.

Our moments around the table are always intimate, no matter the size of the party. Even if the only guests are family and friends who don’t need impressing, an elegantly composed tabletop nostalgically elevates the experience and allows everyone to relax–something we all need in the monotony of forced isolation. We are born china collectors, but the added beauty of rentals allows an opportunity to express every side of our personality or embrace a theme. To celebrate the transformative power of tabletops, we called in local event design experts (who also happen to be preeminent hosts themselves) to handpick their favorite rentals for a tablescape that lightheartedly speaks to this moment. Whatever the occasion, these tastemakers have perfected the art of mixing exceptionally styled tablescapes for clients from Dallas to Italy, and everywhere in between. We ADORE the designs–tablescapes that impress not just because they’re gorgeous, but because you feel the fun and passion in the selections. They will transform you into a place and time. Enjoy. P.S. A very special shoutout to Tamytha Cameron Photography, who always captures every layer to perfection.

NAME TO KNOW: BRIGADE EVENTS

Shelby Rogers and the hard-working women-led team at Brigade Events are our modern-day Grace Kelly’s–there is nothing they don’t do without class and discretion. Many of the Brigade Event team members have been trained under the highest level of service under President and Mrs. George W. Bush at the White House and as the in-house team at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. How’s that for knowing you’ll be in phenomenal hands? Whether it’s an international gathering of dignitaries (yes, they travel worldwide) or a wedding at home, this team delivers an impeccably styled and organized event flawlessly. While this previous year cut into their travel (yes, they actually miss the TSA line!), they have risen to the occasion in handling the required restrictions of modern COVID events by being flexible, responsible, and creative. (Did you see our last collaboration with them? Please check out "We Can Do Hard Things" Part 1 and Part 2.)

Brigade Events finds inspiration in their client and individual values, weaving them into a beautiful event that encapsulates the client’s world. We adore the hidden surprise details carried throughout this tablescape which creates a cohesive experience. (We spy one of their regular collaborators, Melanie Frazier of MF Creative Designs.) Brigade Events truly understand committing to a goal from concept to final execution, rising to the occasion every single time. When they do get a break, you can find them with any other self-respecting Texan–gathering over laughs, margaritas, chips, and queso. We can’t wait to see what events unfold for them in this promising year. In the meantime, here is their Texas-inspired tablescape in their own words.

TABLE TALK

First things first, tell us a bit about yourself for someone who may not be familiar.

Brigade Events is a women-owned-and-operated event strategy and management company. Our mission is to provide unparalleled service to our clients from start to finish. We function as an extension of our client’s internal team and pour ourselves into handling every detail of the planning process, both for in-person events and virtual events, including strategy, research, program content, speaker management, logistics, event design, production management, and event execution.

How do you let a table tell a story?

By weaving together the details of the tablescape, we create a mood or feeling for guests that remain in their memories even after they have left the event.

What inspired this design?

We wanted to create a design that is seasonless and approachable, a tablescape we could actually envision Posh’s clients recreating. We set out to produce a setting that is beautiful and timeless while also being adaptable for many different venues, occasions, and audiences.

What is your favorite rental piece on this table and why?

The Charles Sadek Exotic Bird plate. Not only is this piece so beautiful and versatile (it can be used during every season and with so many different color palates), but it also holds a very special place in our hearts and is a wonderful reminder of our partnership with POSH. In 2013, we planned and executed an event that hosted all living Presidents and First Ladies, Heads of State, and other dignitaries and VIPs. The bird plate was selected for the luncheon for 500, but unfortunately Posh didn’t have the necessary quantity of this out-of-production piece in their stock. But that didn’t stop them from delivering - when we say that Posh went to the ends of the earth to make our bird plate dreams a reality, we aren’t kidding! They managed to find enough of these rare pieces for our luncheon after many, many calls and trips to all different suppliers and even the manufacturer!

Who would you want to bring to this table?

A group of strong women that have been trailblazers in their respective fields. Female entrepreneurs that inspire us including Sara Blakely, Tory Burch, Mindy Grossman, Sheryl Sandberg, Melinda Gates, Ariana Huffington, and Reese Witherspoon – to name a few!

READY FOR THEIR CLOSE UP

Tablescape Vibe: Sophisticated and abundant.

Palette: A testament to Texas, from the landscape-driven succulents to the tactile reprieve of the Rattan charger, playfully tugging at a too-tight with neighborly elegance.

Conversation Piece: We agree with Brigade on the timeless elegance of the Charles Sadek Exotic Bird China–a fine bone china collection with exceptional 18 karat gold detail.

Table and Chair: The iconic Chiavari Chair in natural fruitwood works as an ideal complement to an elegant banquet or ballroom, elevating the presidential element of the tablescape.

Dress Up: Going to a Brigade event means meeting the moment in keen, crafted elegance. We’d arrive ready to engage in stimulating conversation dressed in a mix of Texas-born designers: Brandon Maxwell’s latest powerful collection mixed with an impeccable garment from Lela Rose’s sophistication meets Texas ranch hospitality.
